Harriett W. Neale

Harriett Wakeman Neale, 83, of Walton passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville, following a long illness.

Harriett was born October 2, 1928 in Walton, NY the daughter of the late John and Esther (Bartlett) Wakeman.

On June 10, 1951 she married Bruce G. Neale at the First Baptist Church in Walton. She was a Registered Nurse at the Roscoe Nursing Home for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed doting on her grandchildren; she was always involved and interested in what they were doing. She also enjoyed scrapbooking, collecting things from the English Monarchy especially Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana memorabilia, and watching old movies starring Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracey, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, and Gene Kelly.

Harriett is survived by her children, Karen (Steve) Ball of Walton; Glenn (Kitty) Neale of San Antonio, Texas; Brian (Debra) Neale of Walton; her grandchildren, Ryan (Kanako) Ball, Jeff (Christina) Ball and their son Johnny, Eric Ball, April (Brian) Scharfstein and their sons, Jake and Matthew, Bradley (Kristina)Neale and their children, Hunter, Natalie, and Logan, her brother and sister in law, Richard and Ruth Wakeman of Webster, Florida, and seveal nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family are invited to call on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the New Hope Community Church, 45 Stockton Ave., Walton where services will be held at 1 PM, with the Rev. Jay O'Connor officiating. Burial will follow in Walton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Harriett's memory may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 9 Pine Street, Walton, NY 13856.
