John Linton Cruden, Jr of Walton, N.Y., passed away April 1st 2012 in Oneonta, N.Y. John was born in Troy NY and relocated to Yonkers NY with his family while in high school. Anita Maria Correa of New York City and John married in 1961 and had two children in New York City prior to relocating to Walton, NY.
After service in the US Navy reserve, John worked in the industrial sewing machine industry, first in sales and service for The Reece Corporation of Waltham, MA and then as an independent inventor and developer of industrial sewing machine equipment. He held three patents awarded to him by the United States Government for his original contributions to the industry. He had an outstanding intellect and knack for the technical, including mechanics and electronics. He retired from Xerox Corporation, a career he embraced after the industrial sewing machine industry emigrated overseas.
John always helped those in need, loved his Walton community and life in the mountains.

He is the beloved brother of Walter K. Cruden recently of River Oaks, Houston, TX, now of Atlanta, GA, Boothbay Harbor, ME and Lago Vista, TX, and Mary Constance Cruden Beasley and husband Eddie S. Beasley of North Little Rock, AR and beloved father of Kerry Lee Cruden of Carmel, N.Y. and John Linton Cruden III of Wendell, MA. He was predeceased by his parents, John Linton Cruden Sr. and Mary Orcilia Waite Cruden.
