Estella Virginia Snyder

Estella Virginia Snyder passed away suddenly Tuesday evening at Wilson Medical Center. Estella, known to all of her loved ones as Mema was born Estella Virginia Walley on April 30, 1932 in Cannonsville, NY the daughter of Thelma Figary and Donald Walley. She was united in marriage to Douglas L. Snyder on August 2, 1952 in Colchester, NY. He predeceased her in death November 28, 1991.

Estella graduated from Walton High School and went on to work at the Walton Telephone Company and later on at Del-Met Corporation alongside her husband. Estella was a proud and noble woman always concerned for the welfare of her family and always available to lend a listening ear. She was a true matriarch to her family and she will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her children, Douglas (Sally) Snyder, Walton, NY; Linda Stickle, Walton, NY; her four grandchildren, Erin Stickle, Jason Snyder, Joshua Snyder, Jesse Smith, her four great grandchildren, Damien, Joshua, Laney, Dallas, her three sisters, Jane (Henry) Newell and Elaine Hines both of Sidney Center, NY; and Sylvia Walbourne, Horseheads, NY; her three brothers in law, Henry Newell and Jack Hines, of Sidney Center, NY; and Jerry Walbourne, Horseheads, NY; an aunt; Marion Cole who has been a constant companion in her final years.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased in death by her step father, Willis Figary and a sister, Diane Snyder.

A graveside service will be held on July, 2, 2012 at 1PM at the Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton, NY with Pastor David Wood, Officiating.
