Patsy M. Liguori

Patsy M. Liguori 92, a lifelong resident of Walton, passed away Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Roscoe Nursing Home.
He was born on November 6, 1920 in Walton, the son of the late Anthony and Donata (Cetta) Liguori. On August 11, 1946 he married the former Angelyn “Dolly” Sergio in Walton.
Mr Liguori was a graduate of Walton High School. He attended Syracuse University and received a B.A. degree from Hartwick College and a M.A. degree from SUNY Oneonta.
Mr Liguori was a veteran of World War II, serving overseas in China with the rank of Captain, US Army. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, the Bronze Star and for his service in China was awarded the Order of the Cloud and Banner by the Chinese government for meritorious service with the Chinese 11th Division. He also served during the Korean Conflict with the 22nd Infantry in Germany.
Mr. Liguori was employed by the Walton Central School system for 28 years where he taught Science and later was Guidance Director until his retirement in 1981. In 1982 he returned as an Aide in the Guidance Dept. and as Test Coordinator for 14 years.
He served on the Board of Directors of the Delaware County ARC and also served on the Walton Alumni Assoc. Scholarship Fund Committee. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club since 1962, serving on the Board of Directors and as Secretary-Treas. For over 5 years.
He was a faithful member of Christ Episcopal Church. He taught Sunday School, became Supt. And for over 30 years served on the Vestry.
Mr Liguori is survived by his wife, Dolly at home, a brother, Rev. Robert D. Liguori of Osprey, Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Frank and Alphonso Charles.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Walton Cemetery, with Tr. Darius Mojallalli, Rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, Delhi, officiating. Courtney Funeral Home, Walton is assisting the family.
