Adam B. Billek, 75, of Walton passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022 at home following an extended illness.
Adam was born on April 5, 1947 in Manhattan, NY, son of the late Adam V. and Louise (Anderson) Billek. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam war on USS carriers Kearsarge and Hornet. On February 1, 1990 he married the former Janet Bowley.
Adam worked as a Family Care Provider for Broome Developmental Center in Binghamton for 25 years. He enjoyed tending to his home, gardens, and pets, along with traveling with friends and family. He was a member of the VFW in Delhi, American Legion Post 190, and a longtime "Friend of Bill W".
Adam is survived by his loving family, including his wife; Janet Billek of Walton, children; Michelle Winant of Delhi, Faith (Michael) Brown of Delhi, Michael Billek of Binghamton, Tina (Shayne) Moshier of Andes, Bethany Fairbairn of Delhi, grandchildren; Brandon, Aislyn, Sarah, Hannah, Elijah, Katie, Emily, and Cory, great grandchildren; Claire and Mason, sister; Susan DeMarta of SC, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, and son, Davionne Price in 2019.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday December 31, 2022 from 11 AM to 1 PM at New Hope Community Church, 45 Stockton Avenue, Walton where services will be held at 1 PM with Mother Nancy Truscott, officiating and a reception to follow. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
A special thank you to the countless people who have played a part in Adam's life. Through good times and bad, Adam was always grateful for the support of his friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital-Memorial, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905 and Oneonta Boys and Girls Club, 70 River Street, Oneonta, New York 13820.
