Munn
October 15, 1985 – February 29, 2012
Sgt. Adam C. Munn, USMC, 26, of Walton and New Orleans, passed away unexpectedly in New Orleans.
Adam was born in Walton on October 15, 1985, the son of Arthur and Betsy (Webb) Munn. He was a graduate of Walton Central School, class of 2004, and attended SUNY Delhi, majoring in electrical technology. Adam was a member of the Trout Creek Guntown Post American Legion #1554, the Walton VFW Post #32, and the Walton United Presbyterian Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Adam served 2 tours in Iraq and one tour in Afghanistan where he was awarded a Purple Heart. Adam was presently an active duty component of the Marine Forces Reserve Headquarters in New Orleans.
Adam loved wrestling and running cross country in school and also enjoyed working around the farm, spending time with his family and friends and had great pride in his 54 Chevy pickup. He was also a supporter of Toys for Tots and was always on the lookout for special toys to donate.
Adam is survived by his loving family, his parents, Art and Betsy, Walton; 3 brothers, Shane (Haley) Munn, New Jersey; Andrew Munn, Unadilla; Nathan (Kami) Munn, Homer; 2 nephews, Ryan and Samuel, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends and relatives are invited to call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the United Presbyterian Church 58 East St., Walton, where services will be held on Sunday afternoon at 2 PM with the Rev. Dr. Lisa Ruth Mays, officiating. Burial will follow in Walton Cemetery with full military honors.
Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
