Agnes Buchanan, 63, a longtime resident of Walton, passed away Monday afternoon, May 6, 2013 at Valley View Manor of Norwich, following a long illness.

Agnes was born on August 2, 1949 in Bradford, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Albert and Ruth (Shugars) Bailey. She married Donald L. Buchanan on December 18, 1965 in Walton.

Agnes loved taking care of children and enjoyed every minute of it, sure to be in the "Baby Sitters Hall of Fame". She also enjoyed BINGO, yard sales and trips to the casinos.

Agnes is survived by her loving family, her husband, Donald; her sons, Donald Buchanan Jr. of Walton; Lynn & Amy Buchanan of Ft. Mill, SC; and Troy & Taylor Buchanan of Walton; grandson, Liam of Ft. Mill, SC, brothers, Eugene and Charlene Bailey of Carbondale, PA, Raymond and Leola Bailey of Hamden, NY, Rodney and Pam Bailey of Bradenton, FL, sister in law, Patty Buchanan of Virginia, brother in law: Richard Buchanan of Walton; brother and sister in law, Robert & Jean Buchanan of Masonville; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and special friend, Nancy Gilbert of Oregon. Agnes was predeceased by brothers, Robert and David Bailey, sisters, Helen Tompkins and Katherine Whiting and sister in law Sheila Buchanan.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Friday afternoon, May 10, 2013 from 4 to 5 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton where a memorial service will be held at 5 PM with the Rev. Bert More, officiating.
