Agnes O. Reed, 96, of Walton passed away Wednesday morning, May 22, 2013 at home in Walton surrounded by her loving family.

Agnes was born March 1, 1917 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Anton and Antoinette (Sernell) Oblak. She married William Reed in 1943. He died in 1978.

Agnes was a Fifth Grade School teacher for the Downsville Schools for two years then she taught at the Townsend Elementary School in Walton. She taught for 34 and a half years, teaching four different generations of children. One of the schools she taught at was in Basin Clove. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. When she wasn't teaching she enjoyed reading, camping, crocheting, baseball games, and especially spending time with her family and friends.

Agnes is survived by her children, Alice and Daniel Reed of Walton; her grandchildren, Melody and Scott Curtis, Donald (Carolyn) Reed, Joshua Reed, Dr. Kristyn Reed, Michelle Reed, William Michael Reed, her great grandchildren, Nicole, Christine, Emily, Amelia, Ashley, Techa, her great great grandchildren, Colby, Abigail, Olivia, Alicia, her great great grandchildren, Gavin, Aiden, Riley, and Adeline, her sisters, Dorothy Kelly of Schuyler Lake; Julia Bruce of Mohawk; family friends, Sean Mason, Doreen Taylor, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, William, her brothers, Louis, Anthony, and Frankie her sisters, Molly Kern and Mary Pernett.

Friends and family are invited to call on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from 6 to 8PM at the New Hope Community Church, 45 Stockton Avenue, Walton where services will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 11AM with the Rev. Larry Light, officiating.
