Alfred W. Gilbert, 82, of Walton passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011 at O'Connor Hospital, Delhi, following a long illness. Mr. Gilbert was born on August 19, 1928 in Walton, the son of the late William and Julia (Davis) Gilbert. He married the former Rosalie Silvernail. She died on May 2, 2006.

Mr. Gilbert is survived by one daughter, Pamela J. Gilbert of Walton; three sons, Brian (Sherrie) Gilbert, Manchaca, TX; Alfred W. Gilbert, Jr. of Sidney, Wayne E. Gilbert of Binghamton, 3 grandchildren, Dakota, Michael and Amanda, 2 great grandchildren, Christopher and Cassidy; an uncle, Lloyd Eck, Stamford; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by brothers, Clifford, Lewis and Clayton and 3 sisters, Harriet, Blanche and Ettabelle.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Tuesday from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton where services will follow at 1 PM.
