Obituary

Alfred Joseph Varall, Jr., 60 of Walton, NY, passed away Wednesday morning, August 15, 2007 in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, after a short illness.

Al was born in the Bronx on May 14, 1947 the son of Alfred J. and Elsie Acevedo Varall, Sr. He was a graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Preston during the Viet Nam War. Al was employed as a technician by Morningstar Dairy, Frasier. On July 4, 1998 he married the former Bernice Crane. She died on June 12, 2004. Al was a past president of the Orange County Bassmasters, and a member of the Black Rock Fish and Game Club.

Al is survived by his mother, Elsie, Monroe, NY; 2 daughters, Kristy (Pete) Rose, Monroe, Gina ( Guy) Clark, Circleville, grandchildren, Anika and Logan Clark, Circleville, Tyler and Abigail Rose, Monroe; 1 brother, Bill (Lorna) 3 sisters, Annette (Phil), Camille, and Susan (Raymond), several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and relatives are invited to call at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton on Friday, August 17, 2007 from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM, where a remembrance will take place at 8 PM.
