Alice V. Gizzi, 80 of Afton, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, May 11, 2007 at home.

Alice was born in Sussex, New Jersey on July 5, 1926, the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Post) Edsall. She moved to Andes many years ago and worked in Margaretville at the A &P in the meat dept. Later she moved to Walton where she helped with the Senior Meals. In 2002 she moved to the Stafford Home for Adults, Afton. Alice loved to crochet, and read. She also enjoyed gardening where her tulips are still doing well after many years.

Alice is survived by 2 daughters, Ruth (Jim) Richard, Walton; Grace Kneski, Charleston, South Carolina; 1 son, Arthur (Annie) Santos, Wileston Park, NY; grandchildren, Robin Calabrese, Ruebin Beard, Melanie Hren, Joseph, Thomas, & Geralyn Santos, step grandchildren, Joseph Richard, Denise St. Clair, Bill & Grace Gilbertsen, great-grandchildren, Cherelle Vance, Jonathan Vance, Tianna Nickelson, Christian & Joshua Calabrese, Jeremy Hren, step great-grandson , Logan St. Clair, special cousin, Audrey Miller, good friend and roommate, Betty Dibble, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a grandson, Steven Cafiero who died in the South Tower on September 11, 2001, 1 brother, Egbert Rome, and her twin sister, Betty Edsall.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2007 at 6:30 PM at the Riverside Alliance Church, Walton with the Rev. Delbert Ripley, officiating. Arrangements are with Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
