Alice P. Lynch, 64, a resident of Walton since 2005, she lived most her life and raised her sons in Rockaway Beach, passed away Wednesday afternoon, November 21, 2012 at Bassett Healthcare of Cooperstown, following a long illness.

Alice was born on February 27, 1948 in Brooklyn, the daughter of John F. and Alice M. (Carolan) Hanley. She was married to Francis E. Lynch. He predeceased her on December 23, 2000.

She was employed by Vytra Insurance Co. of Long Island for many years. Alice enjoyed playing BINGO and playing the slots at Atlantic City.

Alice is survived by her loving family, her children, Francis (Dolly) Lynch, John Lynch and James Lynch, all of Rockaway Beach, NY; grandchildren, Kaia, Conor, Brody, Colin, Keria, her mother, Alice Hanley; brothers and sisters, John F. and Claire Hanley, Long Beach, NY; Gerard and Rita Hanley of Canton, GA, Joan and Gerard Nerney of Fresh Meadows, NY; Eileen Smart, Albany, NY; Patrick and Marcia Hanley and Joe Hanley, both of Walton; 15 nieces, nephews,17 great nieces and nephews and several cousins. She was predeceased by her father John and a sister, Jacqueline.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 24 at Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 17-25 Benton Avenue, Walton, with the Rev. Edward J Golding, officiating. Burial will take place privately at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
