Alice M. Wood, a long time resident of Walton, passed away Tuesday morning, October 11, 2011 at Countryside Care Center.

Alice was born on September 21, 1915 in Rock Rift the daughter of the late Daniel and Ona (Mosher) Bowker. She married Jesse Wood on January 27, 1949 in Lanesboro, PA. He passed in 1993. Alice enjoyed bowling, quilting and taking the grandkids to Shiefield's Pond fishing.

Alice is survived by her daughter in law, Lucy Wood, Walton; 2 sisters in law, Martha Bowker, Walton; and Ella Bowker, Boston, MA; stepchildren, Katherine (Robert) Polley, Oneonta; Robert Wood, Unadilla; grandchildren, Regina (Terry) Rhodes, St. Lucie, Florida; Wendy (Robert) Miller, Walton; Joy (Fred) Harris, Afton, William (Anne) Wood Jr., Trout Creek; Timothy (Cheryle) Wood, and Thomas (Marian) Wood both of Deer Lodge Montana; Bernard Wood III, Walton; Jonathan Wood, Afton; several great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 2 sons, William A. Wood Sr., and Bernard O. Wood Jr., one sister, Gladys Bowker and 9 brothers, Otto, William, Joseph, James, Daniel, Jessie, Glen, Orson and Donald Bowker.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 4 to 7 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton, NY; where services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday morning with Rev. Larry Light,officiating. Burial will follow in Walton Cemetery.
