Amy Irene Gregory Furgeson, 85, of Walton passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, NY.

Amy was born October 22, 1928 in Walton, the daughter of the late Ralph and Wavie (Sherman) Gregory. She married Donald E. Furgeson who predeceased her.

Amy was a self-employed Home Health Aide in Walton, NY. She was one of the first women in New York State to become an EMT and Fireman in Deposit. She enjoyed bowling, working on the voting committee, and PTA. One of her life's highest accomplishments was being a Girl Scout Leader; a responsibility that brought her much joy. She retired from Delaware Valley Hospital where she was a Respiratory Therapy Aide and then continued to care for others working with Hospice.

Amy is survived by her loving family, her children; Peggy Polomcean of Virginia, Patty Furgeson of Binghamton, Penny Furgeson of Oxford, Donald Furgeson and his wife Melissa of Walton, her brother; Richard Gregory of Walton, her sister; Doris Hitt of Walton, her sister-in-law; Julia Gregory of Walton, her brother-in-law; Floyd Furgesonn of Minnesota ,18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Douglas Gregory, and her sister, Celia Gregory.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday August, 23 11:00 am at New Hope Church in Walton.
