Ana L. Arbona, 104, of Downsville passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville, following a long illness.

Ana was born May 29, 1914 in Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Paul and Anna Maria (Acosta) Arbona. She was educated at the Julliard School of Music, studying piano. She worked for many years at Columbia University. She lived in Manhattan for 70 years before moving to Downsville in 2012 to live with her niece Maryann and Bob Stanczyk. She lived with them for 5 months before moving to Mountainside.

She is survived by her family, her brother Fernando (Fred) Luiz (Zelmy) Arbona of Sayre, PA; and several nieces and nephews which include, Maryann and Bob Stanczyk of Downsville, GJ & Bob Strain of Downsville, John Christopher (Debby) Arbona, Elmont, NY, Vivien Ercolino of Florida, Diana Anderson of Florida, Ellen and Chris Kohut Savanah GA, Annette & Charles Parker of Florida, Helene & Larry Robbins Orlando Florida, Fred Arbona Jr. of Belize, Jeannie (Gary) Prasch; grand nieces Alexandra Stefancich, Jessica Anderson, Elizabeth Anderson, Sarah Harrell and Eve Miles, Nicole (Joe) Caserta, Casey Arbona, Sarah Hollonder; grand nephews Nicholas Stefancich, Charles Worle, Luke Worle, Adam Anderson, Samuel Kohut, Justin Kohut, Jonathan Arbona, Kyal Arbona and numerous grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Reinaldo Arbona and her sister Olga Anderson.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11:00 am in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
