Anita F. Gerould, 88, of Trout Creek, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at home.

She was born February 16, 1922 in Union Grove, the daughter of the late Eno and Edna Belle (Jenkins) Fletcher.

Anita married Harry Dean Gerould on April 5, 1964 in Fishes Eddy. Dean passed away on November 13, 1986.

She retired in 1982 from New York City Board Of Water Supply in Downsville, NY where she was a clerk for over 36 years.

Neat was always on the go. She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo and cards, especially pinochle. She was devoted to her family and friends and loved to help out every way she could. Anita also adored animals and leaves behind her feline friends, Whisper and Frisco.

Besides her husband, Anita was predeceased by her siblings: Natalie Lakin, Ardath Allen and George Fletcher; step-brothers and sisters: Alvern, Milton, Lloydrick, Frederick, Margaret and Lillian Butler.

Mrs. Gerould is survived by her five nieces and nephews: Woodrow Lakin of Trout Creek, Joan Gardner of Andes, Dennis Allen of Springfield, VA , Barry (Linda) Allen of Springfield, VA and Pamela Mason of Delancey; and several grand & great-grandnieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call on Friday, April 2, 2010 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton, where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 3 with the Rev. David Gatje officiating. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family in Paige Cemetery, Downsville.
