Obituary

Anna B. Miner, 86 of Walton, went to be with her Lord on October 19, 2005. She was born December 2, 1918 in Walton, NY. Her parents were Annie E. Nottage and George Nichols. She was married to Ernest F. Miner on December 25, 1936.

She is survived by one daughter, Anna Helen Decker (Roy), of Cooperstown, and one son, E. Allen Miner (Patricia) of Wylie, Texas. She also is survived by one brother, Albert Nichols (Millie) of Unadilla, and one sister-in-law, Mary Gage (Robert) of Afton.

She is survived 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren, and several nieces, and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Ernest on July 3, 1982. She was pre-deceased by her son, Paul Francis on August 16, 1965, and twin grand daughters, Kathryn and Kristine Miner on July 14, 1964. She was also pre-deceased by her sisters, Hazel Dutton, and Ruth Herrick, and brothers Clarence, George, and John Henry Nichols.

She was formerly employed by the Delaware Valley Hospital and Scott Machine Shop in Walton. She was a long-time member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Walton where she was a member of the Alter Guild, the Vestry, and the E.C.W. She was a past member of the Delaware-Greene Womens Bowling Association, and served for 27 years on the Walton F.D. Emergency Squad.

She took pleasure in knitting, crocheting, bowling, raising flowers, feeding the hummingbirds, cooking and baking for church and family. She always enjoyed the visits from her family and always had treats for the little ones. She had crocheted or knit an afghan for every one of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. All the family members looked forward to her homemade lasagna, and at Christmas time, her Santa face cookies.

Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 on October 21, 2005 at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home in Walton. The funeral will be held on October 22 at 2 PM at the Christ Episcopal Church, Gardiner Place in Walton with the Rev. Suzanne Cole and Rev. Nick Servetas, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may contribute to the Walton Fire Dept Emergency Squad, or the Christ Episcopal Church in Walton. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
