Arnold Brown, 77 of Walton, passed Monday evening, November 12, 2007 in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, after a long illness.

Arnold was born on December 18, 1929, in Greentown, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Arthur and Florence (Rake) Brown. Arnold served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952. He worked for NYSEG for 35 years, retiring in 1987. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed gardening.

Arnold was a member of Walton VFW and American Legion, East Brook Sportmans Club, NYSEG Quarter Century Club, and the Walton Congregational Church.

Arnold is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Joyce (Stiefel) Brown; his 5 children, Gayle (Jack) Allen, Unadilla; Gary (Judy) Brown, California; Stephen Brown, Vestal; David (Jackie) Brown, and Patricia (Mark) Loker, both of Walton; 7 grandchildren, Adam (Kim) Allen, Justin (Markeda) Allen, Ryan (Taneka) Brown, Kyle Brown, Melissa Brown, Cameron Brown, Claire Loker; 2 great grandchildren, Abigail Brown, and Sierra Allen. He was predeceased by his parents and a grandson, Christopher.

Friends and relatives are invited to call from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton where services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday with the Rev. Jennifer Mattison Juliano, officiating.
