Arthur N. Jackson 64, passed away unexpectedly on August 4, 2004, at home in Sarasota Florida.

Arthur was born in Walton July 27, 1940 to the late Percy and Annie Wolf Jackson. He later moved to Cooperstown, as a young child. He was a graduate of Cooperstown High School, class of 1959. On August 6, 1961 he married the former Janet M. Lippett, in Cooperstown. He was employed for many years as a manager at the Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., and when the A&P dissolved, he joined Lorillard Tobacco Co., retiring in 2003.

He is survived by his wife, Janet M. Jackson, 2 sons, Arthur N. Jr. and his wife Elaine, and Jeffrey, both of Sarasota; 8 grand children, 1 great-grand-daughter; 3 sisters, Ruth Kelsey, and Margaret Bailey, both of Walton; and Catharine Ward, Oneonta; 2 brothers, Ambrose Jackson, of New Berlin, and William Jackson, Walton; sister-in-law, Sally and Tom Wirtzfeld, Anacortes, Washington; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister Minnie Van Demark.

A memorial service, for family and friends, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday August 28, 2004, at the Lippett Farm, Cooperstown
