Arthur E. Veprovsky, 74, of Walton, formerly of Ronkonkoma, Long Island, passed away at his home early Friday morning, September 11, 2009 following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on August 27, 1935 in Queens, the son of the late Lawrence and Marie Albrecht Veprovsky.

He was employed as a mechanic for Grumman Aerospace in Bethpage, Long Island until his retirement.

Arthur was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and all the nature had to offer. He was known to walk down to the pond on his property and harvest a fresh bass or bullhead for dinner.

Mr. Veprovsky is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara Veprovsky of Walton; one son, Arthur E. Veprovsky, Jr. of Walton; a daughter, Victoria (William) Beckert of Holbrook, Long Island; grandchildren, Jessica, Jacklyn and Chelsey Veprovsky; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, Arthur was predeceased by his brother, Lawrence Veprovsky.

There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
