Obituary

Bernice A. Cook, 92 of Walton passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.

Bernice was born on April 9, 1922 in Rock Royal, NY the daughter of the late Walter J. and Edna (Kipp) Cook.

Bernice worked as a Dairy Farmer for The Ivan Kipp Farm for over 60 years. In her spare time she enjoyed to knit and crochet, work in her garden, and spend gratifying time canning and freezing the vegetables that she produced.

Bernice is survived by her sister, Mildred Cook of Waverly; her nephew, John Keuhn of Waverly; her cousin, Jane Bell of Walton and loving friend, companion, and caregiver Pamela Sargent of Walton. She was predeceased by her brothers, Robert L. Cook and Walter J. Cook, Jr., her sisters, Mary Backus, Catherine White, and Ruth Vreeman.

Friends and family are invited to call on Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 11 AM to 12 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton where services will be held at noon with Rev. Tom Davis officiating. Burial in Walton cemetery, 55 Fancher Ave., Walton, will be held on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 2PM
