Betty Thompson, 79 passed away August 17, 2007 after a short stay at Countryside Care Center, Delhi.

Betty was born on December 21,1927 in Colchester the daughter of the late Asa and Clayton Houck. She married Irving Thompson on September 23, 1945. He predeceased her in 1974. Betty was a dedicated employee of Delaware Valley Hospital for over 20 years. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She was also a breast cancer survivor.

Betty is survived by her companion of 28 years, Gary Thompkins; her six children, Irving Thompson, Jr., Shirley (Thomas) Barnes, Rose (Mitch) Hare, Ronald (Nancy) Thompson and Roger (Lisa) Thompson of Walton and Sally (Ronald) Soules of Corbett; her

three sisters, Sandra Sarafine of Treadwell, Barbara (Bob) Young, Sidney; and Doris Gransbury, Unadilla. She was predeceased by a sister Marge Kauffmann and her brothers Clarence, Floyd, and Pinky. Betty also leaves behind her legacy of 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at the Walton Cemetery on Friday, August 24, 2007 at 2:00pm, with the Pastor Don Crossman, officiating. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home.
