Obituary

Beulah Mae Houck, 83 a lifelong resident of Walton, passed away early Friday morning, February 1, 2008 in Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, after a long illness.

Beulah was born in Walton on March 24, 1924, the daughter of the late Icabod and Ora (Walcott) Sprague. She was a graduate of Walton High School. In 1957 she married Floyd A. Houck. He died in 1999. Beulah was a homemaker who loved to crochet, latchhook, embroider, and going to the auction. She was also an avid reader.

Beulah is survived by a daughter, Barbara (Daniel) Conklin, North Carolina; a son, Rick (Joan) Houck, Walton, 5 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, sister, Helen Condon, Delhi, brother in law, Bob (Barbara) Youngs, Delhi; sister in laws, Sandra Serfre, Treadwell; Doris Gransbury, Sidney; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Ivan Sprague, and a sister, Wanda Grotevant.

Friends and relatives are invited to call at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home 25 Townsend St., Walton on Monday evening, February 4, 2008 from 6 to 8 PM where services will be held on Tuesday morning at 11 AM with Pastor Donald Crossman, officiating.
