Brenda L. McCall, 50, a longtime resident of Walton, went Home on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Bassett Healthcare of Cooperstown, following a long and courageous struggle.
Brenda was born on July 7, 1965 in Walton, the daughter of Stanton C. "Hank" and Georgiana (Wood) McCall. Brenda loved life and all it had to offer. She was a bright lite that touched all who met her. Even with her physical disabilities she was eager to try new things. She loved horseback riding, snow skiing, playing Yahtzee, and bowling with her many friends at the ARC. She was a member of ARC bowling club. She attended all three programs at The Arc of Delaware County,-CLS_W, RFI and Thrive where she made many friends over the years.
Brenda is survived by her loving family and friends, her mother Georgie, step father Niles Wilson, brother, Michael McCall, Binghamton, sister, Robin and Troy Comfort, Walton, 2 nephews, Michael McCall, Walton and Tyler Comfort, Walton, special cousin, Lisa Nichols, Walton, several aunts, uncles and cousins, special friend, Judy Lincort, Stamford, the loving staff at Joshua House, where she was a resident for 8 years; Robinson Terrace, the ARC and the many other organizations who showed their love of Brenda in so many ways. Georgie and her family are grateful to the many people who helped Brenda in her earthly journey. Brenda was predeceased by her father, Stanton C. "Hank" McCall on April 29, 1979.
Family and Friends are invited to call on Monday, August 3, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, August 4 at the Riverside Missionary Alliance Church, 110 Stockton Ave., Walton, NY Pastor Bob Goldenberg and Pastor James Spain co-officiating. Burial will follow in Walton Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Brenda's memory may be made to the ARC of Delaware County.
