It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Brian E. Robinson, 83, of Walton, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones Saturday, October 31st, 2026 at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, NY.
He was born on April 25th, 1943 at Smith Hospital, son of Myron E. Robinson and Laura E. Pierce of Walton, NY.
Brian graduated from Walton Central School Class of 1961. After graduation, Brian was drafted in the U.S. Army in 1965, he was sent to boot camp at Fort Dix, Mercer, New Jersey. He was deployed after basic training to South Korea and was honorably discharged in 1967.
He married the love of his life, widow Elizabeth (Dunshee) Hall on January 27th, 1968, in Afton, NY becoming not only a devoted husband but also a loving step-father to four young girls. He and Liz would live their lives together in Bainbridge NY where they enjoyed 33 years of marriage.
After his service with the US Army, Brian was employed by the Great American where he proudly worked until his retirement in 2001. During his time in the grocery business Brian made many friends and fostered a warm environment for all customers.
Brian was known for his love of his family, being incredibly proud of his daughters and their beautiful families; but his greatest love were his grandchildren. Many nights were spent attending sporting events and fostering a love of sport in each and every one of them.
Brian will be remembered for his devotion to family and friends; and his love for the New York Giants and the New York Yankees. A lifelong fan of both clubs he could always be seen dawning a hat or jacket of his favorite team.
He is survived by his daughters; Jeannie (David) and Amy (Reginald); his beloved grandchildren, Cheryl, Bridget (Tom), Theresa (Jonathan), Lisa, Edwin, Erica, Colleen (Eric), Brandon (Jessica), Jessie, Jessica (Luis) and Allen; his niece Jodi Supernault (Bill), and many great-grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law Jan and Barb Robinson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and of course, his loyal companion Charlie and special friends; Doug Snyder, Doug Furman, and Dick Layton.
He was predeceased by his wife of 33 years, Elizabeth; parents Myron and Laura, and stepfather Irvin Biedekapp; daughters Carolyn and Cindy; his step grandson Mike, and his dogs Sadie and Molly.
In honoring Brian’s wishes there will be a graveside service with Military Honors at the Walton Cemetery on Saturday November 14th, 2026, at 11am. We welcome anyone who would like to attend to come celebrate his life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart of the Catskills Humane Society, 46610 NY-10, Delhi, NY 13753; in the Robinson name.
A special thank you to the entire staff at the Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY and the Courtney Funeral Home's staff for all their help and services during this very difficult time.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Courtney Funeral Home, Walton. To leave a message of peace and comfort for Brian’s family, please visit his online tribute at www.courtneyfh.com
