Obituary

Angels came down from heaven and carried an incredibly strong and courageous man home.

Bruce L. Sines, 77, a lifelong resident of Walton passed away peacefully, early Sunday morning, June 27, 2010 at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Bruce was born on July 11, 1932 in Walton, the son of the late Bertis and Mary (Fuller) Sines. He was a graduate of Walton High School. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. On August 12, 1990 he married the former Ida Ebert at the Jay Gould Reformed Church, Roxbury. He was employed by Breakstone's, Walton for 39 years.

Bruce was a member of Covered Bridge Dance Club, where he and Ida enjoyed square dances. He also enjoyed the Thursday nite auctions, lawn sales, woodworking, traveling and camping, playing cards and dominoes. He most enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grand kids and great grand kids.

Bruce is survived by his loving family, his wife, Ida, a son, Jeffrey (Robin) Sines, Two Harbors, Minnesota; 2 daughters, Terri (Paul Waters) Sines, Sidney; Karen (Spike) Walke, Walton, step-children, Jeffrey (Kim) Hinkley, High Mills; Michael (Mary) Hinkley, Roxbury; Steven (Karen) Hinkley, Roxbury; Teresa (Jim) Kaetor, East Meredith; Lisa Hinkley, Willow; grandchildren, Nicole (Bjorn), Benjamin, Matthew, Jennifer, (Luke), Lisa, Vinnie, and Samantha, great-grandchildren, Caden, Broc, Briar, Gretta, and Rylee who is on the way; step-grandchildren, Craig, Paula, Erick, Kendra, Danielle, Stefani, Owen, Nick, Ivy, Justin, Jack; step-great-grandchildren, Ryder, Blake, and Aurora; brothers, Harold Sines, North Carolina; Lloyd (Barbara) Sines, Oneonta; Earl (Eleanor) Sines, Walton; sisters, Doris (Lothar) Frank, Connecticut; Eleanor Fisher, Oneonta; several nieces, nephews and cousins and his long time friend, David Rolland. Bruce was predeceased by a brother, Roland Sines and a sister, Ruth Sines.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Tuesday evening, June 29, 2010 from 6 to 8 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton. The funeral will be held 11 am on Wednesday, June 30 at Plymouth Community Church, County Rt. 21, Walton. Burial will follow in Walton Cemetery, with full military honors.
