Carl R. MacDonald, 86 of Walton, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY.

Carl was born in Walton, on August 10, 1921 the son of the late Robert and Rena (Coulter) MacDonald. He was a graduate of Walton High School. He was employed for many years at the Delaware County Highway Dept., Delhi. Carl enjoyed hunting deer, fishing, trapping, tending to his garden of vegetables, good food, raising beef and telling stories. Carl was a loyal friend who was "honest as the day was long", quiet, thrifty, sensible, and hardworking. He also was a cat fancier, and lovingly took care of many over the years. Carl thought the world of his sister, Jeanette.

Carl is survived by his sister, Jeanette, several cousins, and many special friends.

Friends are invited to call at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton, on Thursday, May 8, 2008 from 6 to 8 PM, where services will be held on Friday afternoon at 1 PM. Interment will follow in Walton Cemetery.
