Carl MacGibbon of Walton, NY passed away August 27, 2023 at Chestnut Park in Oneonta, NYfollowing a long illness.

Carl was born June 1, 1954 in Walton to Glenn and Audrey (Cole) MacGibbon.

Carl graduated from Walton Central School in 1973. After graduation he worked many years at SJ Baily & Sons, Walton. He also worked as a custodian at Walton Central School. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed volunteering as an usher at the North Street door and rarely missed a Sunday. Prior to his illness, he was employed as the Church groundskeeper, mowing the lawn in the summer, and shoveling the sidewalks in the winter.

Carl is survived by his mother, Audrey MacGibbon, of Walton, sisters, Vicky Walsh, Raleigh, NC and Sandy Tallman (Kurt), Essex, VT, nephews, Billy Walsh (Jessica), Raleigh, NC, Sean Kelly(Kendra), Walton, NY, nieces, Emily Walsh, Raleigh, NC, Casey Kelly (Kristie) Salisbury NC, KaitlinSlowick (Dan) Worcester, MA, and Sarah Morgan (Henry), Carlsbad, CA. Great nieces and nephews, Alexandra, Jackson, Carter, Chase, Lennox, Jazlyn, Payton, Huck, Holt, Kylee, Levi, Kendyll and Korbyn and several cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Glenn MacGibbon, and his sister Patty Kelly.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 11AM to 12:00 Noon at the United Presbyterian Church, 58 East Street, Walton where services will be held at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Paul Huh, officiating . Burial will follow in the Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.

The family would like to thank the staff at Chestnut Park for the care given to Carl over the past two years and appreciate all the cards Carl received and everyone who visited him during his stay.
