Carl William St. John, 72, of Milford passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Fox Hospital in Oneonta.

Carl was born on September 27, 1950 in Cooperstown, NY the son of the late William and the late Mildred (Cleary) St. John. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy during Vietnam from 1969-1973. Carl married the former Nancy Van Valkenburgh in Roxbury on December 15, 1979.

Carl was a dedicated Water Superintendent at the Village of Cooperstown and later was a Maintenance Director at Clark Sport Center in Cooperstown.

Carl was an Honorary member of the Cooperstown Fire Department where he was an EMT and Foreman of Engine Co. #1. He was a member of American Legion Post in Milford. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling and following NASCAR.

Carl is survived by his loving family, his wife, Nancy, son, Christopher (Monica Anne Peterson-St John) St. John, and grandson, Anderson, who was his pride and joy, of Clifton Park, New York.

The Family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Fox Hospital for the loving care to Carl and his family.

Services were held privately at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery with full Military Honors. The family is being cared for by Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
