Carol Ann Campbell, 58, of Margaretville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the Mountainside Residential Treatment Center, Margaretville.

Carol was born September 16, 1962, in Binghamton, NY, the daughter of the late Archibald H. Campbell and Ella J. Campbell.

Despite being born with Down Syndrome, Carol lived a full and rewarding life attending school, receiving medals for swimming at Special Olympics, and participating in day and residential services provided by the ARC of Delaware County for the past 20 years. Carol loved life and she brought joy to everyone she knew. Carol was loved dearly by her family and friends; she will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her mother: Ella J. Campbell of Margaretville; brothers, Alan (Sandra) Shaver of Downsville and John (Sandra) Campbell of Orland Park, IL; uncle, Colin Campbell of Greece, NY; nieces, Marcie (Jesse) Gifford of Sidney, Janel Shaver of Wilmington, NC, Jillian Campbell of York, PA, and Sophia Campbell of Baltimore, MD; nephew, Joel Shaver of Memphis, TN; great nieces Arianna and Mariah and great nephew Dylan. She is pre-deceased by her father, Archibald H. Campbell; aunt, Elsie (Benjamin) Pardee.

Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will take place on Monday, May 10, 2021 from 1-2 P.M. at Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton. A service to celebrate Carol's life will follow at the funeral home at 2 P.M. Carol will be laid to rest at Paige Cemetery, Downsville.
