Obituary

Carol Sue Lowell, 77, of Delhi passed away Thursday morning, May 18, 2017 as a result of a tragic motor vehicle accident.

Born on March 9, 1940 in Walton, daughter of the late Harold and Mildred A. (Hitt) Hall, Carol's father moved his family often during her youth, working on farms in Deposit, Liberty, Rock Royal and South Kortright.

Married to Charles L. Wilson, Sr. of Watkins Glen, she had four sons: Charles L. Wilson, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA, father of two sons, Brian (Erin) with daughters Aubrey (6) and Layla (4) of Chesapeake, VA, and Gregory (Jennifer) with daughter Addison (7) of Chesapeake, VA; Harry H. (deceased) (Rose) Wilson of Lindley, father of two sons, Dillon (Maggie) with infant son Hollis of Seattle, WA, and Dane of Corning; Robert J. (Donna) Wilson of Daytona Beach, FL; David J. (Susan) Wilson of Cherry Valley, father of Adeline (19), Jacob (17), Silas (15) and Meredith (12).

Married to Ralph Hoag (deceased) of Delhi, she had daughter Loretta (Paul) Ballard of Pasadena, CA with two sons, Josh of Delhi and Derek of Haverstraw.

A graduate of SUNY Delhi Class of 1975 as an LPN, she was most recently employed by Mountainside Residential Care Center, Margaretville.

Carol was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Downsville, the Red Hatters and the Delaware County Republican Club. Carol was a much beloved caretaker of the residents at Mountainside, and enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and friends.

With the exception of her son, Harry, Carol is survived by her previously named children, their spouses, ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by husband, Pastor Edward Lowell of Downsville and his children, Martha and Jose` Ornelas, Edward and Maria Lowell Jr; Rebecca Horning, and Laura Lowell; brothers, Gerald Hall, Sharon Springs, Wesley Hall, Delhi, Charles Hall, Hobart; sister, Anita Stewart, Delhi; special cousins, Frances (Robert) Stevens, Andes; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Carol was preceded in death by son, Harry Wilson (Rose), daughter-in-law, Debra Wilson (Charles, Jr.) and 2 brothers, Donald and Edward Hall.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 5 to 8 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday morning, May 24 at the Delhi Alliance Fellowship, 16178 State Rt. 28, Delhi.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care, American Cancer Society, or the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Downsville.
