Carol Dow Yarnes, 85, of Walton formerly of Downsville passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014 at home in Walton.

Carol was born January 14, 1929 in Delhi, NY the daughter of the late Sidney and Pearl (O'Dell) Knapp. On August 12, 2000 she married Richard Yarnes in Baldwinsville, New York.

Carol owned and operated Dow's Garden Store in Downsville with her first husband Richard Dow. She also was a Paymaster at Del-Met in Walton. She was a lifetime member of the Colchester Community Church. She also was a member of the Birthday Girls and Pinochle Club of Downsville. In her spare time she enjoyed dancing.

Carol is survived by her loving family, her husband, Richard , her daughter, Katy and Larry Kiley of Baldwinsville; her step children, Roseann Hotaling of Saratoga Springs; Michael R. and Cynthia Yarnes of Kutztown, PA.; her grandchildren, James and Alycia Kiley, Jeffrey and Sarah Kiley and Erin Kiley, great-grandchildren, Ryan, Drew, Cole and Abigail; her step grandchildren, Jared and Kate Hotaling, Eric Hotaling, Daniel Yarnes, Lauren Yarnes, her sisters in law, Betty Wood of Unadilla; Rose Dow of Walton; her special friends, Mary Weidman and Sandy Elmore and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Richard M. Dow in 1991.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 12 PM to 2PM at the Colchester Community Church, 15151 State Highway 30, Downsville, where service will be held at 2 PM with the Rev. Dale Ashby, officiating. Burial will be held in the spring at the Paige Cemetery. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
