Celia M. Cook, 69, of Walton went home to her lord on Thursday afternoon, April 30, 2009 at her home after a lengthy illness.

Celia was born to E. Yvonne Smith Merwin and George F. Merwin on August 19, 1939 in Walton.

She married Charles R. "Alabam" Cook on July 19, 1958 in Delhi.

Celia was employed by the Binghamton Press Company for 29 years.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother that was well known for her beautiful flowers.

Celia is survived her daughter Christine Bouw, daughter Connie Crossman, son-in-law Donald Crossman, daughter Cindy Cook, daughter Kimberly Cook and her fiancée Mario Blincoe, and Ceila's long time companion Rodger Banks all of Walton, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three brothers: Ralph (Pam), Jim (Dawn) and Bill (Carla) Merwin all of Walton; three sisters: Diane (Roger) Robinson of Middletown, Patricia (Louis) Pesout of Franklin and Karen (John) Jackson of Walton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Celia was predeceased by her parents, husband, son Randy and daughter Cathy Cook and a brother John Merwin.

Friends are invited to call on the family Saturday, May 2, 2009 from 10:00-11:00 am at Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with the Rev. Timothy Wormuth officiating. Burial will follow at Walton Cemetery.
