Charles J. Gombosi, Jr., 82, of Walton passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, May 1, 2023 at home.

Charles was born on February 27, 1941 in Patterson, NJ, the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Wright) Gombosi, Sr.

He was married to the love of his life MaryAnn (Kaplar) Gombosi for 58 years who predeceased him in 2021.

Charles was employed by Bristol Meyer Squibb in Lawrence, NJ, retiring following a 49-year career where he was president and rep for the union. Charles was also a former Counselman and Mayor of Englishtown, NJ holding this elected position for 10 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, the great outdoors, caring for his animals and was very meticulous in taking care of his home.

Charles is survived by his loving family, his children, Jeff (Simonne Pojawa) Gombosi, Gregory Gombosi, Matthew (Lina) Gombosi, Melissa Paul (Dave); grandchildren, Hunter Paul and Nicholas Gombosi; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A private graveside service will be held at the Walton Cemetery where the remains of Charles and MaryAnn will be laid to rest at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
