Charles M. Hedges passed away at Delaware Valley Hospital, on January 22, 2013 at the age of 74.

Charles was born on June 25th 1938 in Southampton, NY, the son of the late Elias Hedges and Nellie Butts.

Charles graduated from Pierson High School, Sag Harbor, NY, in 1955. He served in the United States Navy from 1955–1959. He worked on Long Island as an auto mechanic at several car dealerships, finally retiring from Steven's Toyota as Service Manager in 1996. His retirement days were spent in Hamden and Walton, NY where he enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling and the simple pleasures of life. He was prominent member of Hamden Hill Ridge Riders.

Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 12PM to 2PM at Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton where services will be held at 2PM with the Rev. Bert More, officiating. Burial will be held privately at the Oakland Cemetery, Sag Harbor, New York.

Charles is lovingly remembered by his ex wife, Carole of Centerach, NY, two daughters, Darlene Hrycyk of Suffern, NY and Dana Cernak of Longmont, CO; grandchildren; Jenna, Briana, Julia and Tyler; son-in-laws, Andrew and Jon; loving companion Mildred Pierce.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 3049, Syracuse, New York 13220-3049 and Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center, 113 Holland Avenue, Albany, New York 12208.

As a "Celebration of Life", the family invites all guests and friends to a reception at the Rainbow Lodge at 440 Rainbow Lodge Road, beginning at 3:30PM.
