Charles "Alan" McGoldrick, of Sidney Center, New York, formerly of Fort Lee, New Jersey, passed away on March 27, 2024, at the age of 85. Born May 21, 1938, in Jersey City, NJ, to Charles E. McGoldrick and Margaret McLuckie.
Alan served in the United States Navy as a Firefighter on the aircraft carrier USS Tarawa (CV-40). He worked as a mechanic for the Borough of Fort Lee (1974 – 2003), retiring as supervisor of vehicle maintenance. He was also a Firefighter for the Fort Lee Fire Department, Engine Co. #1 for over 25 years where he made many lifelong friends.
After retirement, Alan moved to Sidney Center, NY, where he continued to serve his new community as a volunteer firefighter. An avid outdoorsman, Alan enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle.
Alan is predeceased by his loving wife, Nora McGoldrick (nee Alvarez). His sister Jeanette Bonardi, Stepdaughter Kimberly Crockford and Grandson Liam McDermott. Alan is survived by his devoted daughters Heather Corcoran(Kurt Tischer)and Leah McDermott (Bob McDermott), Stepdaughter Dawn Manzetti, and his grandchildren Jennifer and Steven Manzetti; Kayla "May" Crockford; Scott and Hunter Corcoran; and John, Riley, and Erin McDermott.
Calling hours will be 11 am to 1:30 pm with a service to follow at 1:30 pm on May 11, 2024 at Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton, NY, with burial to follow at Walton Cemetery with military honors.
