Charles W. Olmstead, 85, of Maryland, NY, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Florida.

Charles was born October 13, 1926 in Margaretville, NY the son of the late Walter I and Margaret Turpak Olmstead. He was a lifetime resident of Delaware County and vicinity.

Charles proudly served his country in the US Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He spent most of his life working in the construction industry here and abroad. He began his career with the NYC Reservoirs and retired on the New York City Water Tunnel No. 3.

Charles is survived by his sons, Ronald P. Olmstead, Charles A. Olmstead, and his grandchildren, Eric C. Olmstead, Lisa M. Olmstead, and Alexandria Olmstead.

Friends and family are invited to call on Monday, April 9, 2012 from 10AM to 2PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton, where services will be held at 2 PM. Burial will follow with full military honors in the Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton.
