Charles O. Seaman, 83, a lifelong resident of Walton, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday morning, August 22, 2009 at home in Walton.

Charlie was born on July 7, 1926 in Walton, the son of the late Ralph and Ruth (McClelland) Seaman. He was a graduate of Walton High School. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force and the US Navy during the Korean War. On May 30, 1948 he married the former Althea Wells.

Charlie loved making model trains and airplanes built from scratch. He loved visiting with people and had been an attendant at the Delaware County Fair for over 40 years, where he was always helpful to the fairgoers. He also served senior meals.

He is survived by his wife, Althea, 3 daughters, Stephanie (Jerry) Rotella, Syracuse; Kim (Bob) Alvarez, Kristin MacRabie, both of Walton, 1 son, Jeffrey (Michelle) Seaman, Mason, Ohio; 8 grandchildren, Ashley, Michael, Taj, Aaron, Nathan, Luke, Bret, and Shane, 5 great-grandchildren, Dennaro, Ashton, Kiyanna, Baylee, Jaylynn, step-grandchildren, Chelsea and Shelby; son-in-law, Alfred MacRabie, and his longtime friend, Harvey Johnson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Thursday, August 27, 2009 from noon to 1 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton where services will be held at 1 PM.
