Charlotte F. Benedict, 86, of Walton, NY, passed away at home Wednesday, February 28, 2007 after a long illness.

She was born May 25, 1920 in Hancock, NY, the daughter of the late William and Pearl (Laraway) Forester. Charlotte was married for 60 years to Glenn E. Benedict who predeceased her on January 6, 2006. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Walton where she was a Sunday school teacher and member of the United Methodist Women and she belonged to the Home Bureau. She was a bookkeeper for 17 years at the National Bank of Del. Co., Walton, NY.

Charlotte was an avid reader and she would much rather be working outside in her garden than doing housework. She enjoyed traveling and especially liked Sunday car rides with a meal at a diner afterward. She will be remembered as a great and caring person to all who knew her. She was a good cook and she dearly loved her children and grandchildren. They always came first.

Charlotte Benedict is survived by her daughters, Susan K. Benedict and Sandra L. Benedict, both of Walton; her sons; Roger O. Benedict (M. Diane) of Walton and Scott E. (Lisa) Benedict of Unadilla; a daughter-in-law, Diane Benedict of Walton; her grandchildren, Joy Williams, Rebecca Benedict, Jessica Benedict, Amber Benedict and Kali Benedict; 2 nephews, David and Wayne Bullis and several cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Lynn A. Benedict in 1996.

A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Walton Cemetery, Walton, NY at a later date. Funeral arrangements are by the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
