Christopher D.W. Darville, 39 a long time resident of Walton, passed away at home unexpectedly Wednesday morning, April 2, 2008.

Chris was born on April 6, 1968 in Cold Spring, NY, the son of Kirkwood M. and Marjorie A. (Williams) Darville. He was a graduate of SUNY Delhi in the food service program. He also attended college at Southern California Bible College. On June 21, 1998 he married the former Molly Travis in Walton.

Chris was an outdoor hiker and canoeist who climbed all the Catskill peaks and the 46 highest Adirondack peaks. He also canoed from Albany to Buffalo along the old Erie Canal. He traveled along the Upper Hudson River, the Susquehanna, and the Delaware. He was a member of the Walton Assembly of God where he was responsible for the music at the worship service. He also was a member of the Catskill 3500 Hiking Club. He enjoyed meteorology and studying the weather patterns, and Sudoku which is a logic-based number placement puzzle.

Chris is survived by his loving wife, Molly, his parents, Kirk and Marge, Walton, 3 brothers, Timothy Darville, Norwich, Nathaniel Darville, Brooklyn, Keegan Darville, Springfield, MO.; 2 sisters, Cynthia (Mark) Tatum, Colorado Springs, CO., Valarie (Scott) Morris, Sicily, Italy; 5 nephews and several cousins.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Saturday evening, April 5, 2008 from 7 to 9 PM at the Walton Assembly of God Church, Franklin Rd., Walton, where services will be held on Sunday afternoon at 3 PM with the Rev. Kathy Myrick, officiating. Burial will be in Walton Cemetery.
