Christopher M. Olszanecki, 43, of Walton formerly Ellenville and Groton, Connecticut passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at home, following a long struggle.

Chris was born in Queens on January 2, 1972 the son of John L. and Carol (Turner) Olszanecki. He graduated from Ellenville Central School. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy from 1990 to 1992. He was of the Roman Catholic faith.

Chris was employed as a Boat Captain for Frances Fleet in Narragansett, Rhode Island. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4 wheeling, and traveling.

Christopher is survived by his loving family, his mother, Carol of Ellenville, his children, Alexandria and Dean Olszanecki of Las Vegas, NV; Cierra Olszanecki of Walton; his significant other, Rebecca Halstead, her children, Michael, Alison, and Hazzie Halstead all of Walton; his sister, Michele Olszanecki of Middletown, NY; his niece, Cheyenne Morvillo, his best friend, Frank Doolittle of Wurtsboro, NY; and his aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, John L. Olszanecki.

Services will be privately and at the convenience of the family at the Gerald B. Soloman National Cemetery, Saratoga. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
