Obituary

Cindy Davidson was born March 21,1956 in Delhi to Allan and Patricia (Despaw) Davidson. She died on March 17th, after a long illness, a few days shy of her 62nd birthday. Her many months struggle were made infinitely better by the unfailing love and heroic daily care of her dear friend Crystal Zimmerman and family Keilie Dones and Camren Jimenez.

Cindy's memory will be cherished by family and friends for many things, but all will agree that it was her steadfast and loving faith in God that exemplified her life. This faith informed her actions and allowed her to be of humble service to others. The lives she touched with her open heart will forever be changed by her kindness.

Cindy graduated from Delaware Academy in Delhi in 1974. She moved to California in 1980 and returned to Walton, NY in 2003 when she graduated from SUNY Delhi. She was certified in construction, electrical and plumbing, active in the Women's Missionary Fellowship of the Reformed Presbyterian Church, an avid Bingo player and a woman who loved life, the Lord and the fellowship of the spirit. She looked hardship square in the eye. The combination of her "Pollyanna" point of view and her reliance on a power greater than herself, gave her peace. She will be sorely missed, but lives on in all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by four siblings, Brenda Davidson Madriz, Escondido CA, Bruce (and Susan) Davidson, Scranton PA, Mary Jane Davidson and Roger Gray, Walton NY and Michael Davidson, Grand Rapids MI and by her uncles, Richard and Ed Davidson, Califormia. Cindy also leaves behind her special and lifelong friend, Mary Jane Pfeiffer, Denver, CO.

She is predeceased by her parents and Alex Madriz, a nephew. Cindy's beloved extended family includes Melinda Hernandez, Las Vegas, NV David Madriz, Escondido CA, Rebecca Guerrero, Escondido, CA, Damon Madriz, Afghanistan, Chelsea Davidson, Grand Rapids MI, and Brittany Scott, Grand Rapids MI.

Services will be held this Friday, March 23 at Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton. Calling hours from 1PM to 2PM, where services will be held at 2PM. Burial will be in the spring in the Hamden Cemetery.

Donations in Cindy's honor can be made to Heart of The Catskills animal shelter, Delhi NY. She was a lifelong animal lover.
