Claudia Jean Smith passed away on April 9, 2026, at her home after battling cancer. She was predeceased by her husband Daniel, her sisters Carole and Alana, and her brother Marc. Still living are her sisters Shirley and Sande and her brothers John and Jamie. She had 10 children; Chuck, Greg, Danny, Savannah, Austin, Linda, JT, Doris, Nick and Sam. Included there are 7 grandchildren; Heather, Ashley, Tina, Chris Robbie, Kim, and Chrissy. In addition to this, there are many great-grandchildren, foster children, nieces and nephews.

Claudia was well known for her love of God and her love for people. She served as a CNA for many years in a nursing home. Her house has always been filled with children as she cared for her foster children and later adopted children. They were all very precious and special to her.

Claudia loved serving in the church. She taught children, worked in the ladies' groups, served on the board and cleaned weekly in preparation for services. She faithfully prayed for her family, her church, and her town. She wanted everyone to know how much they were loved by God and was willing to do whatever it took to make this understood.

A memorial service to celebrate Claudia's life will take place on Saturday April 18th, 2026, at 4pm. Located at Riverside Alliance Church, 110 Stockton Ave, in Walton, NY. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Riverside Alliance Church.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Courtney Funeral Home located at 25 Townsend St, Walton, NY.
