Clayton W. Griffin, 70, of Delhi, passed away peacefully, Friday afternoon, July 22, 2016, in the comfort of his home.

Clayton was born on October 16, 1945 in Hancock, the son of the late Curtis George Griffin, and Beatrice Mae (Birch) Griffin. He was a graduate of Delaware Academy and Central School. He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1969 to 1971 in the Vietnam Conflict, and cared for his Mother until her passing in 1993. He was pre-deceased by a brother David Griffin, and Sister Carol Griffin Grant.

In September of 1980 he married the former Barbara Vroman remaining happily married for over 35 years until his passing. He spent 33 years employed at CADI at SUNY Delhi in the Maintenance department retiring in 2011. Clayton was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2014 and he spent his remaining years surrounded by cherished family and friends, leaving this world peacefully. As he said, "I did it my way."

Clayton is survived by his wife, Barbara, son, Patrick Lee and Shannon Jacobson of Colorado Springs, CO; 6 grandchildren, Brandon, Connor, Justin, Tatianna, RJ, and Lauren, as well as two great grandchildren, several cousins, and his cat, Oreo and dog, Brandy.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
