Cora Henderson, long time resident of her home on East Brook Road, Walton died Tuesday afternoon, October 25.
Cora was born in new Holland, South Dakota, April 12, 1920 to Janis & Jennie DeLange Sluiter. She was married to Thomas D. Henderson in 1944.
Mrs. Henderson was an active member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church and a repentant believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and now rejoices in His presence. Cora was a committed wife, mother and homemaker. She was a custodial matron for Walton High School for 20 years.
She is survived by her five children and their spouses. Her son, Bruce and wife Linda, daughter Beverly and husband, Jack McCready all of Walton, a son John and his wife, Linda of Endwell, a daughter, Joan Bronson of Walton and daughter, Linda Wiggins and husband, Ford of Manlius, NY.
She has nine grandchildren, Emily Huston and husband, Zachary of Overland Park, KS, Mark Henderson of Walton, Joel McCready and wife, Shana of Winston Salem, NC, Colleen Mathews and husband Christopher of Gibsonia, PA, Anne Boyle and husband, Matthew of Lenexa, KS, Laura Costik and husband, John of Livonia, NY, Tom Henderson of Endicott, and Brad Wiggins and sister, Erin of Manlius, NY.
Three great grandchildren also survive. Katelyn Mathews of Gibsonia, PA, Sarah Elizabeth Costik who will make her arrival the end of Nov. and Wyatt James Huston who will arrive the beginning of Feb. '06.
She also leaves two sisters, Alice DeBoer of Corsica, SD and Stella McPherson of Bovina Center and one brother, Bill Sluiter of Margaretville, NY. One brother, Adrian Sluiter predeased her in 1984 and a sister, Henrietta Stevens in 1999.
Friends and relatives are invited to call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Thursday, October 27, 2005 at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St. Walton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, at the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Walton with Rev. Brad Johnston, officiating. Burial will be in Walton Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Cora's memory may be made to the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Bruce & East Sts. Walton.
