Cynthia Cering, 65, of Walton passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Robinson Terrace in Stamford, following a long illness.

Cynthia was born July 21, 1952 in Red Bud, IL the daughter of the late Cecil and Dorothy (Ahrens) Thompson.

Cynthia enjoyed spending time with her family and loved the scenic views in Delaware County.

Cynthia is survived by her loving family, her children, Edna Ann Cering of Delhi; Frederick W. Cering of Maryland; grandchildren, James, Kevin, Nevaeh, Isabelle, Autumn, brother, Douglas Thompson of IL; sisters, Ruth Ann Saunders of NC; Glenda Koda of Great Falls, NY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her stepfather, Glen Ahrens.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, Walton, where services will be held at 1 PM with Pastor Lois Sharp, officiating.
