Daisy Meda Wagner Schultz, 65 of Walton passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening, May 9, 2010 at home .
Daisy was born on August 21, 1944 in New Kingston, the daughter of the late Walter and Lena (Mayes) Starkweather. In 1980 she married William L. Wagner. He died in December 2005. She was self employed for many years as a home health aide.
Daisy was a 34 year member and former trustee of the Walton Fire Dept., Ladies Auxiliary, the Tuesday morning bowling league and the morning coffee club at McDonalds. In her spare time she enjoyed walking, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. Daisy was known to her family and friends as a kind and warm hearted person, truly a "sweet angel from heaven."
Daisy is survived by three daughters: Laura (Bradley) Northrup of Walton, Dawn Pierce of Liverpool; Barbara (Richard) Scofield Jr. of Walton; 12 grandchildren, Corey (Jessica), Cody, Caity, Bradley and Alex Northrup; Ashley (Eric) Stone; Adam Pierce, Kyle Hoffman, Brandon Scofield, Misty (Jason) Phoenix, Gary Scofield and Cody (Pam)Scofield; 8 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters: Anna McCumber of Stamford; Muriel (Paul) Duncan of Whitehouse, TN; and one brother: James Starkweather of Stamford; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and her family and friends at the Walton Fire Dept. She was predeceased by 1 son, Robert Carl Beardslee on January 5, 1971; and a brother, Walter Starkweather Jr.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on Wednesday evening, May 12, 2010 from 6 to 8 PM at the First Baptist Church, 55 Townsend St., Walton, where services will be held on Thursday, at 1 PM with the Rev. Jay O'Connor officiating. Burial will follow in Walton Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Daisy's memory may be made to the Walton Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, 61 West St., Walton, NY 13856, or the First Baptist Church, Walton.
