Obituary

Daniel Orson Bowker passed away June 4, 2026, at the age of 75.

Born March 8, 1951, in Walton, Daniel was the son of the late Orson “Chub” Bowker and Barbara (O’Hara) Bowker. Daniel proudly served seven years in the United States Air Force, including two years overseas.

Daniel married the love of his life, Jean Perkins, on July 23, 1988. Together they shared many happy years until her passing.

Danny had a deep love for the outdoors and could often be found hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying nature. He also loved music and was well known for playing guitar and singing country songs for family and friends. Danny will be remembered most for his wonderful sense of humor, his storytelling, and the tall tales that always brought laughter to those around him.

He is survived by his stepdaughter, Sherri (Peter) Bennett of North Carolina; sister Pam Howland (Harold Tweedie); brothers James (Linda) Bowker and Roger (Debbie) Bowker, both of Walton, sister, Debra (Rich) Goodrich of Tennessee; sister Shawn (Terry) Hitt of Boonville; Al (Barb) Perkins of North Carolina, sister-in-law Patty Perkins, Delhi, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Daniel was predeceased by his beloved wife Jean, his sister, Ona Henderson, and his brother W. Kelly Bowker, father and mother-in-law William (Bill) and Gloria Perkins, brothers-in-law Theron Howland Jr., and Jeff Perkins.

A graveside funeral service will be held at Walton Cemetery July 3 at 11 a.m.
