Daniel J. Horton, 69 of Walton passed away at home suddenly Saturday evening May 8, 2004.

Dan was born in Great Neck LI, on March 28, 1935. He was a Heavy equipment Operator, employed by the Village of Kings Point, LI.

In 1991 he moved to the Walton area. He attended Trout Creek Community Church. He was a former member of the Alert's Fire Dept, Great Neck, the Fire Department Benevolent Association and a member of the Alert's Fire Dept. race team..

On August 22, 2003 he married the former Barbara Francisco Rosa in Trout Creek.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Horton, a son Brian and Terry Horton, of Great Neck, LI; a daughter Laura and Gary Fraraccio, of Maspeth, LI; a step son Duane and Kelly Rosa, Summit Point, WV; a step daughter Kristie and Scott Polomcean, of Trout Creek; the mother of his children, Genevieve Munnelly, of LI; 4 grandchildren, Alexandra Horton; Abigail Rosa; Justin and Kolby Polomcean; three brother and sister in laws, Jackie and Linda Sulla, Great Neck; and Cecelia and Richard Northrup, Walton;Gloria and Tim McGrath, LI; Step mother in law, Beulah Francisco, Delhi; step father in law, Howard Robinson, Franklin;

Calling hours will be held Tuesday May 11, 2004 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton where services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM. Memorial Contributions in Dan's memory may be made to the Walton EMS, or the Trout Creek Fire Dept. Memorial contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.
