Darwin L. Dean, 49 a life long resident of Walton, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2007 in the Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie, after a long illness.

Darwin was born in Walton, on January 27, 1958 the son of the late Virgil and Charlotte (Rutherford) Dean. He was a graduate of Walton Central School, class of 1976. He was employed as a Machine Assembler for Scott Machine Development, Walton. Darwin loved woodworking where he made birdhouses, feeders, benches and trinkets of all kinds. He also loved to go fishing, and watching NASCAR and the New York Yankees.

Darwin is survived by a brother Everett (Sherry) Dean, Walton; 4 sisters, Norma Collier, Wells Bridge; Sharon Young, Sidney; Charlene (Eugene) Bailey, Carbondale, PA; Vicki (Bill) Wells, Downsville; sister in law, Shirley Dean, Sidney Center; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends, Bill Wood, Doug Sommers, John Cucciarre,and Barb Robinson. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Marvin and William Dean

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Walton Cemetery.
